Interesting and Informative Websites to upload your 23andme "Raw Data File" to make best use of your genetic information for preventative health, including a new report to assess coronavirus genetic susceptibility and interventions.
Once you have received notification that your 23andme report is ready by email, login to 23andme.com and go to the top right corner and click your name and choose "browse data" in the dropdown. Then download and save your "raw data file". From here you can now upload your raw file to a number of different interfaces that provide evidence-based information and interventions for preventative health.
I am frequently asked about the privacy issues regarding 23andme data. To date I advise all patients to try and access a 23andme kit from Canada (must also be returned to 23and me from within Canada), as Canada has privacy laws protecting genetic information. https://ccla.org/genetic-non-discrimination-act-overview/
It is also a possibility to register for 23andme anonymously and even create a separate anonymous email address to handle your raw data uploads. To date I have not learned of any privacy breaches arising from the use of these sites.
